Philosophy
and Values

At Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School, we believe that every child should be nurtured, inspired, and motivated to make the most of their full potential. Our balanced approach focusses on each child’s intellectual, moral, spiritual, physical and emotional wellbeing and development. We instil confidence and self-esteem in our pupils, fostering a love of learning through intellectual risk-taking and curiosity. Respect, compassion, tolerance, and community responsibility form the foundation of our school’s values.

Our Aims, Vision and Values

Personal, Social, and Emotional Development is central to our ethos. From an early age, our pupils learn to self-regulate, show kindness, and celebrate diversity. Our school’s Behaviour Culture is built on the pillars of Kindness, Respect, Courage, Integrity, and Consideration.

Our Learning Culture emphasises Challenge, QuestioningDialogue and knowing how best to respond to Feedback. By fostering confidence and resilience, we encourage children to take intellectual risks and to learn from their mistakes.

Learning at RPPS extends beyond the classroom. With Ravenscourt Park nearby, we integrate outdoor education to connect students with nature, promoting environmental stewardship and sustainability. Our extensive range of extracurricular activities nurtures creativity, teamwork, and leadership while igniting individual passions.

Through our partnerships with local charities, schools, and organisations, we instil a strong sense of community responsibility. Pupils are empowered to give back to others, fostering empathy and gratitude for the opportunities they have.

Parental Engagement

Our partnership with parents is integral to our success. We operate an ‘Open Door Policy,’ ensuring open communication and a welcoming environment where parents actively contribute to school life. Their involvement is essential to creating a supportive and engaged school community.

Outcomes

At RPPS, our children thrive in a stimulating, nurturing environment. Inspired by outstanding teaching, they become resourceful, resilient, and reflective learners, confident in their ability to collaborate, voice opinions, and learn from mistakes. Our pupils leave as expressive, confident communicators with a strong sense of community, prepared to move on to the next stage of their education as well-rounded, thoughtful individuals who value diversity.
