Welcome to Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School.

We are an inclusive, co-educational independent preparatory school for boys and girls aged 4 to 11, where a warm, family-like atmosphere, a strong sense of community and a challenging and distinctive academic curriculum are all parts of what makes our school stand out. Visitors to RPPS often remark on how genuinely happy our pupils are, which we are naturally always delighted to hear. We work hard at our school to make sure the overall environment both nurtures and of course inspires, so our pupils continue to love coming to school every day.

The nature and quality of the personal relationships we all enjoy at our school are a critically important component of our success, and this includes strong partnerships with parents. We operate an ‘Open Door Policy’ to maintain close, trusting relationships between us all. We welcome parental involvement in activities such as reading with children, attending trips, and supporting special events. Kindness and a strong sense of mutual respect are central to everything we do.

Warmth without substance is of course just wallpaper, and that has never been the RPPS way. We are proud to teach a rich curriculum at our school built with real intent. Nothing earns its place in our classrooms by habit or tradition alone; it earns its place because it is relevant to the world our children are actually growing up in, and because it stretches their thinking rather than simply filling their day. Ours is a curriculum for children who ask “why”, not just children who are told “what”.

Rigour, at RPPS, is not a synonym for pressure. It is the discipline of doing things properly, both in terms of how we look after one another and how lessons are taught. Our terrific staff are curious professionals, first and foremost, and they bring their dedication and commitment into school every day. We take our responsibility to prepare our pupils for entry into leading independent senior schools very seriously indeed. That includes schools across London and further afield, alongside those within the Gardner Schools Group. By the time our Year 6 pupils are sitting their 11+ entrance assessments they are simply doing, under exam conditions, what they have been doing at our school all along and our results speak for themselves. It is a source of immense pride to us that each pupil moves on to the best senior school for them, so they can continue to flourish and thrive.
