Learning Support & SEND

Every child is unique and the Learning Support department at RPPS aims to identify all pupils who may need special consideration to support their physical, sensory, emotional or cognitive development at the earliest opportunity. Home, and school, work in tandem to find positive strategies and solutions in order for each child to achieve their full potential, both academically and socially. This can be facilitated in a number of ways:

  • Identifying and assessing individual needs through staff and parent feedback, formal assessment, screening and observation.
  • Designing and implementing individual learning programmes, including Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Supporting teachers to develop classroom strategies and multi-sensory teaching strategies to promote personalised learning.
  • Liaising with external agencies e.g. speech and language therapists, occupational therapists.
